Fun Activities on Catalina Island

 

Catalina Island is a place that has something for everyone. Once you step out of your Catalina Island hotel, there are plenty of interesting activities available for you and your family to enjoy, such as diving or spotting marine life in the ocean; there are even shipwrecks to check out, and an underwater theme park. If you’re looking for something more relaxing, you could cruise through the shops along the shore.

Water Activities

Catalina Island is a diver’s haven situated close to the California coast and major cities. Diving and snorkeling locations can range from beginner to advanced, so anyone can try it out. There are also several hundred feet of clear waters swarming with marine life, and a few spots with sunken ships, and also one plane wreck.

You can get the scuba or snorkeling gear at shops nearby. Head towards the water from your Catalina Island hotel and spend at least a day to enjoy the waters.

If you don’t like activities that involve getting you wet, there are other activities you can do that keep you dry like boating. You can charter a yacht, glass bottom boat, sailboat, kayak, Jet Ski, or fishing boat to take you out on the water. Parasailing is another option to explore. It all comes down to how you want to enjoy yourself.

Land activities

There are dozens of land activities, such as golfing, Segway rental to look around at the island and so on. Other interesting spots to visit are the Avalon Theatre, the Catalina Island Museum, and the Casino in Avalon.
