An Evening with Oscar Fundraiser at Catalina Island

The Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation recently announced that they would be returning to the red carpet on February 26, 2017 for their annual “An Evening with Oscar” fundraiser. Reports indicate that this popular event will be held at the world famous Casino Ballroom. This event has already become one of the most anticipated events on the winter calendar of Catalina Island.

The chair of the 2017 Oscar committee, Ashley Villarama recently said, “We are really looking forward to this year’s event. We have some amazing auction prizes and we worked hard to ensure attendees have a chance to walk away with great/unforgettable experiences as well as prizes.”

An Evening with Oscar event has become one of the noticeable traditions of the Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation, which is actually a non-profit organization that raises funds for the medical center. Officials from the association hinted that the event will feature a silent auction, a live auction, and Oscar predications. It is reported that there will also be Oscar telecast viewing during the event.

“Each year the event gets better, building on the foundation we’ve created. The community has really embraced Oscar Night and made an annual must-do tradition,” Vilarama said. Reports say that the funds hosted during this event will be donated for building a new hospital on the Catalina Island. “The Foundation will partner with the medical center and many other stakeholders to create a facility that serves Catalina Island for generations,” Vilarama added.

Officials also hinted that many of the entertaining and exciting features that made the event a giant success among many viewers will mark their return this year. In addition to that, the person who correctly predicts the most number of Academy Award winners will be rewarded with a grand prize from the organization. Auction items and prizes include spa experiences, dinners, getaways, theme park tickets, and a lot more.

Villarama also noted that she is very grateful to the individuals and businesses, who agreed to sponsor the event this year. “Our sponsors will allow us to raise even more funds to serve the health needs of everyone who lives here and visits here,” she said.

An Evening with Oscar will begin at the Casino Ballroom at 05:00 pm on February 26, and the tickets for this show will be available to the residents and tourists for $100 per person.
