The Annual Wine Festival of Catalina Island
The Women’s Forum of Catalina Island organized the annual wine festival on September 17, 2016 at the Oceanfront along the South Beach bay near Crescent and Clarissa Ave. More than 70 prestigious wineries presented their wines in the festival. Apart from wine tasting, visitors also enjoyed live music, light appetizers, and silent auction at the venue. Visitors also got a commemorative festival wine glass at the end of the festival.
About the Festival
The festival was scheduled along with the Festival of Art hosted by the Catalina Art Association. Free street fare was also organized from September 16-18 along the Crescent Avenue, allowing many visitors to explore and buy sculptures, fine arts, crafts, and photography.
The Edison International donated $5000 STEM Scholarship for the graduating seniors of 2017 in the field of math, engineering science, and technology. A formal check presentation ceremony was held during the wine festival at 4 pm to thank them.
As the festival was hosted in the sand, visitors were requested to leave their shoes at the check in and bring only their sandals. Though the seating was limited, personal umbrellas and chairs were allowed for people with special needs.
